Ford Bronco Lift & Leveling Hub
Ford Bronco lift and leveling hub: the Sasquatch split, the HOSS 1.0–4.0 suspension ladder, crash-bar facts and verified kit fitment for 2021+ trucks.
- 2021+ (6th gen) · 4WD
The Bronco (sixth generation, 2021+; 146,007 sold in the US in 2025 per the sales figures compiled in our research) is the platform where the factory sells the lift. Ford will sell you a Bronco already standing on 35-inch tires with locking differentials at both ends — the Sasquatch Package — which makes the aftermarket’s job narrower and stranger than on any truck on this site: every kit is built for one side of a factory divide, and buying for the wrong side is the platform’s signature mistake. This hub is where the divide, the suspension ladder underneath it, and the verified fitment rows live.
The Sasquatch divide
Per Ford’s technical specifications and dealer-published package contents, the Sasquatch Package bundles LT315/70R17 tires (a 35-inch class tire) on 17×8.5 beadlock-capable wheels, a high-clearance suspension, Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, 4.7 final-drive gearing and electronic-locking front and rear differentials. For 2026 it is available on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Badlands, standard or bundled on the Heritage and Stroppe editions, and not offered on the Raptor, which has its own hardware entirely.
One number we will not give you: a Sasquatch “lift height” in inches. Ford’s own specifications express the package through tire size and ground clearance (11.5–11.6 inches on the 35s, against 8.3–8.4 on the base 30-inch tire — and that gap includes the tire diameter itself, so it is not a suspension figure). The roughly 1.1-inch lift figure quoted around the internet traces to Zone Offroad’s catalogue copy, not to Ford. Where a manufacturer number does not exist, this site leaves the cell empty.
The practical consequence is a fitment mirror-image. Base-suspension kits (Rough Country’s 40400 and 51027, ReadyLIFT’s 69-21200) state flatly: does NOT fit Sasquatch-equipped trucks. Sasquatch kits (Zone’s ZONF1221, ReadyLIFT’s 69-21310) state the inverse: Badlands and Sasquatch trucks only. Both sets of exclusions are in the kit records in best lift kits for Ford Bronco — check which side of the line your truck is on before you read a single lift height.
The HOSS ladder: four suspensions, one badge
Under the Sasquatch question sits the hardware ladder Ford calls HOSS, and it is the second reason Bronco kits split by trim:
| Variant | Dampers | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| HOSS 1.0 | HOSS-tuned heavy-duty monotube | Standard on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks |
| HOSS 2.0 | Bilstein position-sensitive dampers | Standard on Badlands and Heritage; comes with the Sasquatch Package on any trim |
| HOSS 3.0 | FOX internal-bypass dampers + Ford Performance severe-duty steering rack | Standard on Stroppe; available on Badlands (requires Sasquatch); standard on the 2023–2024 Wildtrak |
| HOSS 4.0 | FOX 3.1 Live Valve semi-active dampers | Raptor only — 37-inch tires stock, 13.1 inches of ground clearance per Ford |
Kit manufacturers write their fitment against this ladder, not against trim names alone: Rough Country’s pages exclude “HOSS 3.0” and “HOSS 4.0” as explicitly as they exclude the Sasquatch Package, and BDS’s Bronco systems are scoped to what its dealers describe as the base shock package — the trucks with black struts from the factory. A Badlands on HOSS 2.0 and a Badlands with the HOSS 3.0 option are different fitments wearing one badge.
The crash-bar fact every non-Sasquatch owner needs
ICON Vehicle Dynamics — a kit manufacturer, and the source for this — states it plainly: the factory crash bars on non-Sasquatch Broncos must be removed to clear 35-inch and larger tires, and ICON sells a high-clearance replacement set for owners who want the bars’ function retained; Sasquatch-equipped trucks omit the standard bars. For 37s, ICON’s note hardens: crash-bar removal may be required “but is not recommended.” So the non-Sasquatch 35-inch route in our fitment table carries a condition no spacer listing will headline: the tire fits the arch once the bars are dealt with, and dealing with them is a safety-hardware decision, not a trimming detail. Weigh it before the tires, not after.
Raptor: a separate planet
The Bronco Raptor (HOSS 4.0, FOX Live Valve dampers, 37-inch tires and 13.1 inches of clearance from the factory, per Ford’s specifications) is excluded from every kit in our Bronco dataset — by Rough Country, by Zone, by the ICON note above. It is a factory-finished truck for lift purposes; this hub tracks it as an exclusion, not a project.
Where to go next
The kits themselves, organised by which side of the divide your truck sits on: best lift kits for Ford Bronco. The transferable homework is the same as everywhere on this site — decide the type with leveling kit vs lift kit vs body lift, read diameters honestly with the tire size and lift height guide and the tire size calculator, and price the whole job with how much does it cost to lift a truck. Ford truck owners will also want the F-150 hub — same badge, entirely different fitment logic.
